Looks like some folks are printing large pieces with some sort of carbon fiber composite. I knew it would happen eventually, but I figured it was still a ways out.

Interesting, but too bad the article doesn't specify which parts were printed. Body panels? Frame? Wheels? EVERYTHING?

I want details.

I wonder if this means the local motors car will print better since they are teamed up with ORNL and mentioned that they will have a priniting facility there.

This all assumes that picture is the printed item and not a stock photo.

I suspect it is a photo of the printed car, but with some pretty heavy body work done to it afterward. There's no way that a 3D printer will be able to give a finish like that, straight from the printer. At least not with our current level of technology.
